If you have a parcel of land that would likely be suitable for development, for either residential, employment or commercial use we can advise on how best to promote the site through the Local Development Plan process.
Each Local Planning Authority is required to have a Local Development Plan in place setting out planning policies for their areas. This controls development in the local area, as well as confirming that they can achieve the housing targets set by government. They are also required to provide a certain level of commercial/ employment land.
Due to National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requirements introduced in 2024 requiring mandatory housing targets, there are a significant number of local authorities that are reviewing their local development plans to achieve the housing numbers set by the current government. This is opening a number of doors in relation to putting forward sites for development.
If you have a site that you think would be suitable for development please contact us. We can review the site and advise how best to promote the site through the relevant Local Development Plan.
